The XR-PL107 Large/Small Mouse Wheel Rhythm Monitoring System, also referred to as the Large/Small Mouse Voluntary Activity Wheel (Running Wheel), is a flexible device suitable for experiments involving large mice and small mice. It serves as a valuable instrument in research on animal circadian rhythmic cycles, feeding behavior, and drug or pharmaceutical tests.

Compared with treadmill and swimming pool training equipment, the running wheel system has more prominent advantages in research fields such as small animal behavior, exercise physiology, and neurophysiology. It has been recognized by experts and scholars and is a preferred exercise training equipment in laboratories. Among them, the voluntary running wheel is driven to rotate by the spontaneous movement of the animal itself. In this configuration, information about the long-term activities of animals in the cage, such as the rotation direction, number of rotations, and cumulative total distance of the running wheel, can be recorded by an encoder for length measurement. The voluntary running wheel is an autonomous movement device for rodents, consisting of a rotating wheel assembly, a cage body, and a rotation direction and speed sensor. It is an essential tool for experiments studying animal circadian rhythms.
