High-Throughput Juvenile Fish Observation System
Product Model:XR-Fish-Y
Introduction:

The advantages of zebrafish as a novel model organism are gradually being recognized, and the fields where it is applied are becoming increasingly broad. Regarding the application of zebrafish in neurobiology, it not only has greater advantages over other model organisms in terms of development, but also has more extensive applications in terms of ethology.

Detailed Introduction

Background Introduction

The Larval Zebrafish Observation and Analysis Module is specifically designed for high-throughput tracking of behavioral trajectory data of larval zebrafish in multi-well plates. The zebrafish observation chamber is compatible with various types of well plates, such as 96-well, 48-well, and 24-well culture dishes. It can be expanded with a water bath circulation and temperature control module, a sound and vibration stimulation module, and a light stimulation module to conduct different behavioral tests.

Water Bath Circulation and Temperature Control Module

The temperature control module is an auxiliary module of the zebrafish observation chamber. The temperature controller can be directly connected to the behavioral observation chamber, and the temperature inside the observation chamber is autonomously adjusted using flowing water. Its unique design allows for easy control of the temperature conditions inside the chamber. The experimental temperature control range is 15℃ - 40℃. The water temperature is measured directly at the well plate position, so the temperature displayed on the screen is the water temperature inside the wells. This module can provide an ideal and controllable environment for tracking the activities, movements, and behaviors of larval zebrafish, and is generally used for long-term rhythm monitoring of larval zebrafish.

Sound and Vibration Stimulation Module

The vibration stimulation module is mainly used in experiments such as studying the startle response of zebrafish. This device is built into the observation chamber, and discrete vibration stimulation is generated by striking the base of the micro-reaction plate holder. You can set different levels of vibration intensity to quantify your research.

Light Stimulation Module

The light stimulation module is mainly used for the study of circadian rhythms in larval zebrafish. You can set day-night light changes in the software to simulate sunrise and sunset, with adjustable light intensity ranging from 0 to 8000 Lux. The light is emitted from the bottom light panel, which can better stimulate the zebrafish. Meanwhile, you can also set short-term light stimulation or long-term high-intensity light stimulation to conduct sleep deprivation experiments on larval zebrafish.

Main Functions

  1. The system provides 7 recognition methods for observing objects: intelligent recognition method, grayscale method, static background method, dynamic background method, Gaussian background method, chromaticity method, and deep learning model method. These methods can cope with almost all complex experimental environments. Meanwhile, the system supports quantitative presentation of zebrafish behavioral data, including trajectory maps, trajectory vector maps, heatmaps (2D, 3D), and activity maps (2D, 3D), etc.

  1. High-quality cameras and an observation chamber with an all-new visual design can avoid angular distortion at the well edges. Additionally, the backlit flat tray provides uniform light to each well and eliminates shadows.
  2. Specialized meniscus lenses are adopted to prevent corner distortion, ensuring the integrity of video images and the accuracy of test results.
  3. The system is equipped with a high-definition camera, an infrared filter, and an infrared illumination system, which can provide favorable monitoring conditions for fish tracking. The camera acquisition rate ranges from 30 to 60 frames per second, with a resolution of ≥1080P, and the power of the infrared illumination system is adjustable.
  4. The larval fish observation chamber can hold 6-well, 12-well, 24-well, 48-well, 96-well plates or petri dishes to conduct high-throughput experiments on larval fish.
  5. The larval fish observation chamber is configured with a water temperature circulation control system, which regulates the input and output of water flow for long-term circadian behavior monitoring. The water temperature control range is 15℃ - 40℃, with a control accuracy of 0.1℃.
  6. The larval fish observation chamber is equipped with a light stimulation module. Light stimulation modes can be customized via software, which not only simulates day-night cycles but also enables intense light stimulation or gradual light intensity adjustment (adjustable light intensity range: 0 - 8000 lux).
  7. A tapping stimulation module is configured, and the tapping level can be automatically controlled via software (8 adjustable tapping levels).
